This procedure is relevant for people who has upper jaw protusion. It's pretty rare so I've never heard about it

Highly unlikely you have central midface protrusion. Last i looked, the protrusion you have is a significant dorsal hump to the nose.

This is the article!! I think they were able to decrease the height of middle face, making the face much more harmonic in the frontal view. I know this technique is for really selected patients.

But I think I might have some benefit from this LeFort2 with 2 cuts, we both agree that a Lefort1 can make my nose really odd

patients in pictures DO have protrusion to upper jaw. you really dont. The balding patient on left has GOOD jaw advancement naturally. So, this was good procedure for HIM. The patient on the right also had protrusive area.  Last I checked, you did NOT need height decrease of of midface. Rhinos, when need be, are done at SAME time as a bi-max. There are things they can do so the nose does NOT look worse with the bi-max double advancement.

ETA: The doctors who wrote the paper are in FRANCE. So, you would have to go to France to consult with one of them to see if you fit into the category of that type of surgery.

I understand Kavan. But, a reduction in midface height in almost all patients isn't a desirable outcome? Or i'm wrong about all the IPD/mid face height ratio stuff. A bimax + rhino not reduce midface height i presume.

It is not a good idea to rely on generalities when one needs SPECIFICS for one's own case. You might not have a long midface.
