Title: Blood in mucus 9 days post op bimax
Post by: mopdop on October 18, 2017, 05:54:29 PM
had upper and lower jaws moved forward + counter clockwise rotation and a graft from my hip. my issue is when i suck up mucus from my nose and spit there are dark globs of blood, there's no bleeding at all in my mouth so could this be due to the lining of my nose being damaged? My surgeon said i could blow my nose with my mouth open 5 days post op after our appointment, swelling has gone down heaps and i'm recovering pretty fast.

has anybody else experienced this?

Sounds perfectly normal. For reassurance you should check in with your surgeon, but I definitely had bloody mucus (nose and mouth) up until around 2 weeks post-op

These are all normal signs.
Will abate in the following weeks.
