Title: Back again with further questions, wanted to know best options for lower third
Post by: gob on November 05, 2017, 12:28:07 PM
After having a 3-year hiatus from this forum, while still ruminating daily about my aesthetic deficiencies, I've decided to get some more opinions on what I could do to reduce flaws and bring balance to my face.

Last time I was here, a user with the handle "Optimistic" had remarked that my lower third wasn't the issue that sent my other features off-kilter - rather it was my upper third and more immutable features such as eyes. I agreed with him, yet I still feel my lower third could do with some improvement, principally projection of the chin and a straightening of the mandible.

The mandible suffers from pre-suclus troughs that I've been told can engender jowls and a sagging of the face - this is something that I obviously want to avoid. I feel as if my nose also interferes with how my face is presented, as my nasal base is wider than my inte-canthal length and has excessive flaring, especially with any unconventional facial movements (like from running or doing something strenuous)

I was thinking of getting either a genio-plasty or opting for implants; yes, I know how frowned upon those are - I just don't see any alternative to widening a chin and rectifying my aforementioned problem of the pre-suclus notch. I also fear that a genio-plasty can make my jawline narrower? It's something that I really want to avoid as I feel that my lower third is already quite narrow and I'd like to attain the inverse result - can a genio-plasty be performed without this issue?

Secondly, I was reviewing alar-base reductions and had concluded that some type of nostril-narrowing surgery was essential; the caveat being that it only affects the base and not the actual structure of the nose, I don't even think it touches the nasal tip - which I also need. Maybe I should opt for a conservative rhino that doesn't affect the profile of the nose, only the front.

I'm only focusing on these two surgeries now because anything else would either be ineffective or outright damaging to any aesthetic ideal I want to achieve, It's best to play it safe at the moment.

Another prominent issue is that of my lips, I sense that they're too narrow and enlarged vertically. I have these strange indentations - or creases - at the side of my mouth that become more pronounced when I rest my face or turn my head. It's worse on my right hand side, so i'm guessing this relates to the structure of my cheekbone and jawline on that side of the face.

I can raise up to £20,000 in a few months (Live in the UK), would this be enough to cover the expenses?

Straight on, semi relaxed face that's only employing muscles around mouth. Lip tends to sag and look incompetent when completely relaxing.

Same as above.

https://i.imgur.com/pBfltMM.jpg

3/4 shot. Feel like my eyes are a bit too far apart or that they're too large vertically. Also drooping in right eye.

https://i.imgur.com/2LoiLQG.jpg

This is one of my better pictures, I wished I looked like this all the time yet I don't. I attribute my better look in this image to everything seeming more angular and symmetrical.

https://i.imgur.com/3KfCUoM.jpg

This shows my face at a candid angle (an angle people would see me at outside), highlighting cheekbone recession and sagging of skin. Lips also seemed puffed out here and nostrils and prominent. Give impression that of a fatter face.

https://i.imgur.com/HBMNoFW.jpg

This is another one of my better pictures - albeit the sun occludes a lot of the skin issues from the last picture.

https://i.imgur.com/BgJzw9w.jpg

Side profile, note the lack of chin projection and slight crease at edge of lips. Also have minor maxillary prognathism because I'm mixed race.

https://i.imgur.com/Bp5EMRX.jpg

Same as above, though you can see the issue of my forehead shape/curve more clearly here - distinct lack of brow ridge.

https://i.imgur.com/PsdruLx.jpg

https://i.imgur.com/n0DoSU3.jpg

So in conclusion, I suffer from any strong masculine indicators or solid contours that can bring someone up to being generally attractive. Every feature is slightly rounded and weak, obviously this is a big issue when it comes to women as they're never "ticked on" when they see me, I lack that raw attractive attribute that I feel every young, average man has. Also makes it seem like I'm sad and defeated all the time, with a submissive posture that odiously adds to the image of someone who's will never be considered handsome.

P.S. I have issues with asymmetry and my eyes being off center, I don't think I can fix this so I've resigned myself to acceptance. The eye asymmetry is congruent to the asymmetry of my entire skull, as you can see the posterior of my head suffers bulging on the right hand side - this has lead to asymmetry in the jawline as well as the cheekbone.

Your photos were excessively LARGE in both number and size. They required too much scrolling to view them. I removed the image brackets so they  would not be repeated in posts that used the quote function.

If you wish your photos to show on the board, you would need to CROP out extra background space.

Genio is your best bet, IMO.

Would a genio alone make that much difference? And can I ask for it to project horizontally as opposed to vertically?

Another thing I wanted to ask, do you think my nostril flaring and the orientation of my nose has something to do with my prognathic maxilla?

Here are some amateur shops:

I mean that is one of many possible outcomes of a nose job. So in that sense it's a possibility; I wouldn't call it a probability.
I don't think you need that at all. Your nose is fine. A genio would help, and yes a bit of horizontal projection. You don't need much at all, if any.

Women ostensibly don't find me attractive, I appreciate the comments but compliments from men aren't useful for other heterosexual men. I get the "You're not my type", because I don't look like a MAN. I lack the lower third + thick beard and tall face - regardless of the weight, a man's bone structure can be deduced, negating any counter examples of fat men who supposedly abscond these aesthetic requirements. Plus I don't have welcoming eyes, which women cherish as a standard.

You don't need anything. You look like Lewis Hamilton. Save your money and start lifting instead.

If it's true that women don't find you attractive (unreliable narrator, so I'm not sure that's true), then it's due to a personality issue, not your looks.

In conclusion I think you might suffer from BDD . You look good.

I like your nose as is.  I could be wrong but maaaybe the outer edgess of your eyes are a smidge lower than ideal? You actually look great, have you tried dating apps? The only thing I see is maybe a sliding genio would improve your look a little. There's no other real deficiencies noted here. Lots of guys have flatter cheeks and average to smallish brow ridges (not sure if you suffer from either)

What would be the total cost of a genio? I know people like to give figures of 6-8k but I don't think that includes hospital stay and other ancillary services. How much should I save for my surgeries?

How do you know women do not find you attractive?
I'm a woman and once even an attractive one according to other people than me...
I can say than you look good.
You seem quite young still?

Don't do anything to your face. Many women see you as a very handsome young man.

Try to built up your self-esteem and personality and go to eg. to gym like someone said.

And what attracts female the most, at least the ones that I'm close to is usually mans personality.
With great personality you can do a lot.

I sometime went to  date with man that had no other arm, but it really did not matter since his personality was great.
Then I went on a date with guy who was my size, which means he was quite small guy... it still did not matter. He was a fun person and attracts many people.
Unfortunately with one guy who was better looking than most of the male models in magazines had such a personality that I just could not handle it and made him unattractive.

Attractiveness is not just about looks.

Try another haircut maybe? I think that might be the one that makes you look very young.
And add pair of nice glasses?

See this picture: http://cdn.playbuzz.com/cdn/1ac6238b-6322-49de-9d61-5d0a5e51aa8f/8ec05847-7efc-44e5-94a9-13b176f8e6a8_560_420.jpg I think Jim Carrey has many more hairstyles that fit him better than this.
Baldness does not matter at all either. My friends brother used to be insecure about his balding and finally shaved it all off. That was actually a great option and it made his looks just great.

Does it look like I'm balding? Because I only have this hairstyle to cover up a wonky hairline that's really further back on the right than the left. It's also higher than it is in these pictures. My natural hairline has always been like this, I'm not balding (I think).

I saw your profile and I agree that an SG may be worthwhile (though I think profiles in general are overrated and you look good from the front which is more important).

Don't become a gym rat. It'll just make your Bdd worse and lifting weights is probably the most pointless "sport" possible. Do something outside. Ideally something that's not too easy to get to a plateu so that you feel a continuous sense of accomplishment.

Oh, I'm sorry. What I wrote about balding was nothing to do with you.
I just wrote it because I know it can make a person insecure and that people have good options for that situation too and it can be overcomed. Sorry my English, I'm not native speaker.

You don't look at all balding. You look like you have a very short hair. I think that if you try to grow it and remember to smile, then that's all you need. Of course if you prefer your current hairstyle, then that is it. That has nothing wrong either. It is ok.

And about the gym. I did not mean that you need to work out a lot in the gym to be this muscle man. But if you feel like it just a tiny bit if you are skinny and want to built up a little your weight. Maybe gym is not even needed for that.
Many women do not like big muscles... just regular people.

My observations suggest a sliding genio along a diagonal cut where the chin is slid forward on that cut to provide an aspect of horizontal advancement and vertical shortening as H and V vector components of the displacement. That would address your chin being too LONG in the front which makes your jaw angles look too high. It would also improve your profile.

I've also altered your medial eye brows to bring inward and downward somewhat for a more 'commanding' stare and to call attention away from the slightly down turned canthal angles. It is something one can get in a SALON. It is not surgery.

Not shown is a SIDE PART to the hair so the hair can be tossed to one side as to introduce some favorable asymmetry to the hair line. Perhaps counter intuitive but a perfectly symmetrical straight across  hair line like that is visually un-dynamic and juvenile. It is something else that can be done at a salon.

I agree 100% with these two.

Plus, if you had said result with rhino, you'd look effeminate and possibly like there was work done. Not good in my opinion, and I'm a girl, if that matters to you.

If you really want attention from women (of any kind) you can workout, dress well, smell nice and make money. If you want a decent woman though, self-knowledge and social skills will be your true obstacles.

I think he has BDD. But I also see that some improvements can be made as I had demonstrated via a morph. The definitive 'test' for BDD would be if he did not 'see' the improvements made to him and still went on and on and on about his flaws (which can be improved as shown by me). Making his nose more diminutive as he did in his morph and wanting to look more 'masculine' are self negating objectives, which I think you picked up on.

How would they make my eyebrows longer in a salon? Wouldn't that require hair grafts? Thank you for the morphs btw, I do want to get a genio at the very least. I may steer away from a full rhino and just go for an alar base reduction to reduce nostril flaring.

A type of tattooing. Inquire in a salon.

There's a slight difference seemingly not justifying being so concerned, if you ask me.

However, I can understand being extra critical of one's own looks.

OK. It's called 'micro-blading' that looks like eyebrow hairs. But first find a salon that will show you temporary via eye brow pencil (or do yourself in front of mirror) whether it works for you or not.
