It seems like the Maxillo-Malar Osteotomy has not been mentioned or discussed in this forum yet.

The osteotomy was developed over the years to correct the deformities of the midface without modifying the nasal projection via an intraoral route only.
I think that sounds great - it seems to be a suitable alternative to a Zso or Mod. Lefort III.
Does anyone know anything about this osteotomy - f.e. if Raffaini offers such an osteotomy for non deformed patients?
What do you guys think?

Yes, and unlike Earl's Mod. LF3 osteotomy with Sinn, access is only intraoral, which would save you the annoying scars near the eyes.
In addition, the process seems to be safer and more feasible (they have modified the classic osteotomy lines).
Someone should get a consultation with Raffaini and/or Sesenna.

that essay which i've seen before is from 1989. I doubt its that good since it never received widespread acceptance.

Well, a modified L3 is basically where the cut is above the L1 cut (so the teeth bearing maxilla is not moved) and one that does not bring out the nose with it.
The 'classic' Lefort fracture lines arise from Renee Lefort taking a bunch of skulls and smashing them against the wall to see where the most frequent fracture place were. So, he got the Lefort 1, 2 and 3 based on doing that.
