Redpill = the brutal truth about something
Bluepill = an untruth designed to make you feel better

Comes from The Matrix - Neo is offered the bluepill and the redpill. If he takes the blue, he remains in a delusional fantasy of reality, if he takes the red he sees how reality truly is.

I would avoid the red pill community on reddit if that's what you're referring to.

So, I've been reading things on certain sites on which posters are addressing aesthetics issues.  I think that, in that context, "legit" simply means "that's true!"  In that context, I think that "cope" means "you're fooling yourself."

I've read a lot from /redpill and yeah would also reccomend you stay away. It's a bunch of losers giving other losers advice and they are delusional and filled with cognitive biases. They promote manipulation and blanket generalize to the point that they recommend you turn off your brain and perceive every person from the opposite sex to be the exact same.

lol yeah those people are a bunch of f**king copecells f**k all these puahate people they call other people copecills but THEY ARE THE COPECILLS CAUSE THEY DON"T f**kING KNOW REALITY. THEY'RE THE BLUEPILLS! MOTHERf**kERS>

http://lookism.net/Thread-The-posters-on-jawsurgeryforums-com-are-regretting-their-surgeries

lol that forum is for retards. i wouldn't worry about anything they have to say.

they're all just a bunch of virgins who can't get any p*ssy and spend their time virtually circle-jerking each other on lookism and associated sites. Why are you even reading their crap?

After i read some posts on lookism i got a little bit depressive.  I mean is good looking really everything. Are there no other values or ideals that count like f.e. going to church. Can an average looking guy not be happy in his life?! I can not explain this in english because it is not my first language... no offense but finally i came to the conclusion that a lot americans are crazy. I mean look at their president.

There's two Americas.. the rural/small town and the urban cosmopolitans.  The small town, mostly blue collar America won this time.

Lookism has some good info on stuff about jaw surgery and plastic surgery when you ignore all the crazy deranged s**t. My take: red pill is the result of being poorly socialized (read: completely fubar'ed) by the internet in an age of hypercapitalism, accelerating alienation and social isolation, online echo chambers in a post-truth digital world, toxic masculinity, and a view of relationships modeled after a market economy of pure exchange. Also undiagnosed mental health issues. red pill isn't just crazy, it kills. Expect more Elliot Rodgerses in the future. Quality mental healthcare should be a right for all.

It's a result of a few things:
1). Being unattractive (I fall into this camp). I've read stuff on there because I am frequently romantically rejected by the opposite sex for reasons outside of my control. It's made me very bitter.
2). Aspergers - shouldn't be understated and means that you grow up 'wrong' (badly socialised)
3). Stupidity. Alot of members there are very, very stupid. (Yes really).
