He has facial nerve experience in addition to an MD, DDS, and Plastic Surgeon board certification.

James Sunwoo, MD, DDS, is a maxillofacial surgeon dedicated to providing comprehensive care in the head and neck region.  His areas of expertise encompass traditional oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthognathic maxillofacial surgery, and cosmetic maxillofacial surgery. 

He obtained his undergraduate education at the University of Chicago.  He received dual degrees in medicine and dentistry, from the University of Southern California and Columbia University, respectively.  His postgraduate training, including an internship and residency, in general surgery and maxillofacial surgery, was completed at the University of Southern California.  In addition, he is dual-fellowship trained in maxillofacial orthognathic surgery and general cosmetic surgery. 

He has received numerous honors and awards, and remains active in clinical, academic and research activities.  He maintains close affiliation with Northshore-LIJ Lenox Hill Hospital, Mount Sinai-St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital and New York Eye and Ear Infirmary.

He said he does over 100 Jaw surgeries a year. 
The more I learn about the gamble that is jaw surgery the more afraid I become!!!   :-(

You just have to love people like this who bring a doctor's stars way down and then they dont leave any real constructive criticism.     Like this comment "He is such a nasty person and on top of having the worst experience I caught a infection..he sucks wouldn't recommend him at all"  ONE STAR.  An infection after surgery is pretty common and antibiotics are a common solution so I find it hard that Dr Sunwoo hid himself from a patient with an infection.
