Do surgeons discuss patients?
« on: September 07, 2022, 11:03:19 AM »
Based on recent discussions with surgeons in the US, I'm getting the vibe that surgeons may talk to each other / collude in some way.

Anyone have any insight into this? I could be totally wrong. I'd like to think HIPAA protects my privacy, but I'm getting signals this may not be the case.

Yes they all have a group chat where they rip on patients and make lewd jokes.

Seriously  what’s the context here?

yes they absolutely do. thats why they tend to ask who your previous surgeon was if you go for a revision.

Oh really? So does that mean you probably shouldn't mention your previous surgeon?

The context is that indeed I'm talking to folks about a revision
