Kissing, etc.

For all of those on the other side of jaw surgery I have a question?   How long does it take to recover to the point where you can really kiss your significant other again?   Is it the same as before?   Just wondering how it affects relationships too.

It depends on how long you're banded or wired shut. I don't recall being capable of properly kissing during that time. Then, out of respect for your partner, there's the oral hygiene issue that puts you off kissing until a proper cleaning.

I would say a couple to a few months out, you should be fine. If your partner is worthwhile, s/he will be supportive and have patience during that initial recovery period.
