Hey Blues, How large is your underbite? You look good in your photos but unsure where your teeth sit.

Blues, you look way better than most of us will look even after all the surgery in the world. I don't think you have any reason to complain.

I wouldn't worry my friend, you're going to be a male model once your underbite is fixed. You have near perfect features. Lucky guy.

I don't know if he should take the risk of surgery unless his bite is really off.

Blues, what do you find depressing: aesthetics or your bite?

I think you should ABSOLUTELY get the surgery. Don't worry, two years in braces will fly by like nothing and it's for the rest of your life. After the two month mark you won't even notice you have braces. And let me tell you, I thought braces would hinder my rapport with girls. ABSOLUTELY THE OPPOSITE --if anything, people are intrigued to see an adult with braces and view it as a sign of someone who is into self-improvement. You are good looking and seem to have a good body, but you definitely have an underbite that detracts from your looks. Make sure to ask though how the operation will change your midface and cheekbone area, especially the nose. I would only go to a doctor who can provide a computer visualization of what the outcome will be more or less. But I say totally go for it. And don't be depressed, you've been blessed with looks like 90 percent of guys would kill for, so just get it done.

Thanks everyone for the comments i really appreciate them. Yeah i've been told surgery can change the shape of your nose but one thing i would be glad to see for once is cheek bones cause i don't have any lol. Here's some additional photos of my bite:

The only thing i dread is wearing braces for longer than 3 years and my face looking like a cash register, judging from these pics could you guys give an estimate how long i may have to wear them?

Whenever someone looks at me i always think they are judging my features especially when they look down towards my mouth. Sometimes i feel like saying something but this could all be paranoia.

Blues your bite is nowhere near as bad as mine. Please be thankful that you're not as bad as most people, to me you actually look really good. It's super depressing to have a bad underbite like mine so try to be more positive :)
As for the braces, I've had them almost 5 years now and I really dont care, honestly you get so used to them after the first month!

Hey it's generally a minimum of a year in braces pre-surgery. It's commonly longer than that. My ortho actually did mine in six months but my bite isn't bad so it was more tweaking and prepping for segmenting my upper etc rather than making major movements. If you had braces before, bear in mind they will likely want to undo some of those previous movements and your teeth may fit/ look worse during that time.
Also:
A) you're really handsome- your slight underbite makes you imperfect in a very small way but no one would be remotely repulsed.
B) have surgery if you want it and your ortho and surgeon agree you would benefit. Ignore others' opinions.
C)You do not resemble a cash register in any way

When i last consulted my surgeon i was around 14 and my jaw was obviously still growing. As soon as he mentioned the word "operation" i freaked out big time because i had never undergone one before. I still went a long with consultations  but abandoned it at last minute as soon they told me my bite would be made worse, that just did it for me. Now my jaw has stopped growing and i have had time to think, i really want this done. As for paying i'm going to try and find a way round it, if this is causing depression or problems eating, i can get it referred by a doctor. I don't have much problems eating as such but i guess it will help when they are asking questions. What pisses me off is my friend's sister got breast enlargement free on the NHS all because she was depressed, it makes me so angry!!!
