too bad i can't copy and paste...too lazy to convert the pdf. page 487 section listed as "discussion" includes some interesting info. the limitation of hydroxyapatite is what interests me the most. the examples they give are extreme deformities. doesn't seem to emphasize any augmentation effect, but rather filling in holes/gapes/blatant irregularities in the face. the contouring affect seems limited. i can see why some surgeons might be more conservative with it because the complications look pretty scary, scraping the stuff out...go under again. with implants the removal process is less messy and complicated. for cosmetic purposes i really think HA doesn't cut it.
