hello everyone,

i am having a consultation with Dr. Paul Coceancig Sep 12th for both jaw IMDO.  Anyone has experience with him yet?  I live in the US with anthem blue cross PPO, wonder if my insurance covers this revolutionary procedure.

My situation:

had a serious overbite, and went for upper jaw surgery (moving it up and backward) 10 years ago (40 years old now).  Have a perfect bite now, but with facial imbalance and flat upper jaw, long drooling upper lip, face shorted by 7mm and a much small lower jaw (7mm, i think), i was going to have a conventional double jaw surgery to move both jaw forward until I ran into IMDO.

Actually studied IMDO 5 years ago - a surgeon in NY recommended, however with 3 reference check of his, nobody stand by this technique.  My research finding back then was this could be a much better procedure as you can control how much to distract and even undo some of it.  Being able to monitor the distraction on a daily basis while you are awake is a big big advantage compared with letting surgeon to decide while your face is puffed up and at sleep.

According to NY surgeon (text me if you want to know the name) and Coceancig's assistant, and my research it's applicable to adults.  Essentially, by cutting the bone and widen it 1mm a day, it stimulate new growth of the bone.  Statistics has shown it's stable on jaw, leg bone etc.

So what i need double jaw surgery moving forward....

anyone had surgery with Coceancig yet, which kind?

advice needed.
