Coronoid Process Fracture

Hi all, Has anybody had a coronoid process fracture?  Did it cause complications after surgery?   I'm 6 months post op and still get pain in that area and still, with exercises, can only open to 2.3 cms.  Just cannot get past that.  Surgeon possibly going to send me for CT as they said that's the only way to see it clearly as it's hidden by the cheekbone in xrays.

Did it fracture during surgery, or is it an old injury? Yes, you NEED to have a more comprehensive scan, too! I'm obviously not a doctor, but your surgeon saying you "possibly" need a CT is crazy.

yep, accidentally fractured during surgery because my nerve bundle is really high.  They nearly called off the surgery because it was so high and the risks associated but I'm glad they proceeded.  It was at my last appt the surgeon said he'd send me for a CT if the problems continued.. they're continuing so I've requested the CT before my next appt on the 5th Dec.  Haven't gotten the form yet though which is why I say possibly.    I vaguely remember her (the surgeon) saying that it's as simple as going in and removing the fractured bit IF it hasn't healed but I'm curious what happens with the muscle/ligaments etc that attach to the C Process?

Because it's an insertion point, yea, I'll be curious what they recommend. Assuming your pain is not structural, and it's just soft tissue stuff, there's a bunch of stuff you could consider trying so I wouldn't get too worried. I would get a scan and go from there.
