afraid of having damaged small zygomatic nerves - please answer
« on: October 09, 2014, 03:08:46 PM »
I'm going to have osteotomy of the zygomatic bone after overlooked mild facial fracture, improperly healed.
My surgeon told me that he will access my zygomatic arch trough the mouth. Doing this he cut the small zygomatic nerves which goes out from side of the zygomatic bone. What is strange and interesting he said, that most people do not feel any loss of feeling / or distirbuances on side of the face

I write about zygomaticofacial nerve

that supply sensation to the ZF region

Is that true, that this nerve can be cut and You will still have full feeling in the ZF region?  I dont believe

All who had surgery in that region [zygomatic bone, zygomatic arch osteotomy] please tell me about this
