I have had 6 procedures all were successful in a way but ultimately unsuccessful including my surgery with Dr. Keller at Mayo. I was hoping to get back to see him to see if there was more that could be done since he was the only one of 50 different doctors who thought they could even do anything to help with the pain and problems.

I've spoken with many people on the web who had successful TMJ surgeries. More conservative procedures tend to have better success rates. TJRs are still new. Personally, I'd only consider one if I got to the point that I were contemplating suicide otherwise. Crippled is an understatement for what you'd be. Hold off as long as you can, there's hope as long as you don't screw things up more in surgery.
