It sounds like the bond between the crown and the root can really withstand the force that's applied to them by a brace. I feel really relieved as I'd worried that getting a root canal would completely screw up my chances of getting something done about my teeth.

Hi Mark, my ortho said crowns are fairly common in adult patients. The only other comment he made on crowns was that sometimes brackets don't always stay adhered to them, so then he ends up banding them. But, he usually tries brackets first.

Bands must be hell on the gums.
