Ibuprofen during recovery
« on: August 11, 2015, 03:53:22 PM »
Is Ibuprofen really need for recovery?  Just wondering if the pain is fine without it does it contribute to faster healing of the tissues or nerves?  Does it really do much to reduce swelling and does prolonged natural swelling reduction hinder the healing.  Kind of a odd thing to wonder about, but I have underlying reasons to want to be easy on my kidneys.  Thanks.

It's more for pain and I don't think it helps with swelling. Drinking lots of fluids, taking herbal supplements like Bromelain, Tumeric, and Quercertin do more for swelling. However, swelling is actually beneficial cause it helps your bones heal. Personally, I'm not allowed to take ibuprofen cause I'm a kidney donor so instead I took acetaminophen. But oxycodone is my hero and made my nights more bearable.

I took ibuprofen 600mg for 4 days or so, ZO hurt the most. It doesn't have any influence on the swelling.
