I am 5.5 weeks out from double jaw advancement, sliding genioplasty, turbinoplasty, septoplasty and UPPP for sleep apnea. I had expected the numbness and some swelling, but for several weeks now, I have been experiencing an extremely annoying squeezing sensation around the tip of my nose and around my mouth and, strangely - in my hard palate (roof of mouth). It is constant, doesn't come and go, it's there all the time. It makes it difficult to smile, eat, drink, talk although it doesn't really LOOK that stiff, it feels very uncomfortable. Is this part of the nerve regeneration? Swelling (I don't look that swollen). Has anyone experienced this and how long before it begins to go away? Feeling is beginning to come back slowly and I no longer have burning pain; now it is much more subtle, other than the squeezing, tight feeling, it just feels fuzzy when I touch my face. The squeezing, though....
