I'd say I'm about 85 to 90% of normalcy for clearly speaking. What's the difference between speaking and talking to you?

No. I'm on a blended diet for 8 weeks. Today marks 7 weeks for me. 8 to 16 weeks should be soft-chew if I'm given the go ahead.

Updated the blog with some X-Rays for anyone who is interested. The most interesting part of the x-rays are the increased space in the TMJ and the lower left mandible grafting.

Reposted with larger x-rays.

Kristen, I was referring to the ceph X-ray that shows the entire skull. You can see the space in the TMJ now.

Are you still swollen? at what age did you first start having TMJ related problems?

Yes. Still swollen around my nose. I started having TMJ problems when I was 18, so about 10 years ago.

Hey what position do you sleep in now? And how long after surgery did you feel comfortably sleeping on your wide or stomach? I usually sleep on my stomach.

I'm still on my back, although it's flat now instead of propped up.  At first it was really miserable trying to sleep on my back.  I would want to roll over so badly but I didn't want to wake up with lopsided cheeks so I just stuck it out.  Sometimes I'd catch myself resting my hand on the side of my forehead to change it up.  I'm used to sleeping on my back now so it's not a big deal anymore.

Yes.  The first 2 weeks you have to stay upright.  It's not fun.  I just took sudafed or unisom to help keep me sleeping.

I can't sleep on my back right now cause I choke once my muscles are relaxed. I guess I should practice sleeping on my back as well?
