time of soft tissue remodeling
« on: April 04, 2016, 06:47:03 PM »
How long soft tissue adjust to new bone set up (if I can say that)

My zygoma moved 5mm horizontally. Quite big movement for midface, 2mm more than originally. Overcorrection
I had flattened face for 4 years due to overlooked fracture

Now I see interesting and strange things.  Soft tissue behaves still like I had my previous bone position.
For example when I open mouth it bent "too early"  or "too narrow".
In some places there is not enough fat on other place too much .... I can't even explain that

Probably I won't find a surgeon who will do such big surgery just for 2mm. I have to accept my new symmetry
Question is how long is gonna take for muscles and the rest of soft tissue to adjust for my new symmetry. Completely new after 30 years of my life
is it even possible ?

I didn't expect that 5mm is quite big movement when it comes to midface

However I have big risk of nounion.
In some places after osteotomy there was 7mm gap between bones and after 3 weeks I got infection
It's 4 months and I still hear surface noise (slight grinding) fom zygomatic arch when I pull the bone

so 5mm made things very different?

sinn says he can only do 8mm advancement of zygoma orbital rim, for me i think that's too little. Also I want the orbital rim moved UP more closer to my eye so it pushes up my lower orbital lid!! Is such a surgeyr possible????

8mm forward is not the same as 5mm horizontally
Believie me it's not too little.  I was thinking 5mm is little too.  I regret I did not stop my surgoen in making that bad plan

horizontal movements in midface are critical
For example 4mm movement outside and You have collaped eye - enoftalmos

about orbital rim I have no idea. ..

I updated my previous  post. Take a look at the last sentence

Infection very often stops bone healing ?
