Best surgeons in Australia

Anyone recommend any good surgeons in Australia? I've already had the surgery twice and in both instances it has been a total mess. I need someone who can do a revision or at least explain to what what is wrong.

Andrew Heggie is supposed to be good. He has done the surgery on at least two members on this forum.

Thanks Gregor. He's in Melbourne which is a little far (I'm in NSW), but I won't rule out traveling if it means getting someone good.

Well I'm not sure exactly what you need, but I can recommend Stuart Deane, I've only had a consult with him, but he's a lovely guy and they are both supposed to be very good.

The other person I know is Paul Coceancig, but he's perhaps more specialising with his distraction surgery.

I'm not sure about Paul Coceancig. He's terribly expensive. I don't trust surgeons who overly charge.

Well I suppose he's doing something unique. Anyway you are paying for expertise not time. But certainly he may well not be the best surgeon for the type of medical intervention you need.

Surgeons in Australia (and I'm not talking specifically about Jaw Surgery) tend to very much specialise in certain areas - or even operations - so you need to find the specialist for what you need.

Do any Australians do 3d surgical planning? I've always liked the sound of it.

I read this on one surgeon's website
"He is planning to be the first surgeon in Australia to use Computer Assisted Planning for Orthognathic Surgery."

Maybe it's just an old blurb... or could he really just be the only one?
