Shortening the lower face with surgery
« on: June 30, 2016, 07:43:33 PM »
I'm awaiting a consultation with Dr. Gunson in late August but everyday I find myself wondering how much the lower third of the face (sub-nasal to the menton) can be shortened with jaw and other bone surgeries and techniques like counterclockwise rotation, impaction and genioplasty. Obviously, all cases are different for each individual case but I am just wondering if anyone has an informed opinion on what the possibilities are for people long jaws.

It's usually the chin that's long, but it's easier to analyse if you put profile photo or Ceph X-ray up?
