Just wondering as I've been offered surgery to correct an Asymmetric Mandible through a BSSO (just lower jaw surgery). My Jaw is deviated to the left by 1.5 incisors.

I've don't quite a bit of research on the process of a BSSO and i cant see why a BSSO  would change the shape/ positioning of the the rear part of the jaw (the part that sits underneath the masseter muscles) but perhaps I'm mistaken .

Can anyone shed some light on this ?

Thanks !
