Explain CCW to me

Sorry I dunno where to put this seen it a lot in NCBI reports and seen it mentioned a lot in this forum too, wondering what it is and if it's beneficial to people with underbites, I tried looking it up but it still isn't very clear to me, is CCW moving both the upper and lower jaw up and forwards or is it just the top jaw? Sorry to be annoying.

is ccw used in class 3 patients who have a high mandibular plane angle? or just class 2?
