Before is way way better.

As we're talking about about bad results. Can someone help me to realize why this result looks so bad?

Don't know if is alar base flaring or overadvanced maxilla.

holy s**t thats awful. Yeah totally overadvanced maxilla. She needed definitely could have used a strong modified lefort II that moved her zygos and orbital rim along with her maxilla. I mean it might be better for her breathing but the results are subpar.

Are those public results or are you sharing someone's reveal? If the latter, please remove. If they're public results post the link instead of an imgur link.
As to what happened is over advancement.

That is crazy amount of maxillary advancement.  From front she actually looks better to me after. Looks like 15 mm advancement from side to me. Do u know how much it actually was?

I would not call a 'bad' result. she still has the 'witches chin' (ptotic flesh pad when smiling). So she would need to see a plastic surgeon well versed in treating that and possibly if she want's her lip shortened. It just shows there are some trade offs but i think the improvements far exceed the trade offs in this case.

I also think she looks WAY better after, she has asymmetry but perhaps that is quite common with jaw surgery?

Guesswork. How much you feel her maxilla was advanced?

No idea but if I have to guess then maybe even around 2 cm.
Any idea who the surgeon was?

Thanks GJ but I do not think that is 10 mm

IIRC This is 10 mm - https://imgur.com/A3Wgr8n . Looks mild by comparison.

Yeah Bowie i'd wager more on your estimate but probably its somewhat less.

From a public facebook brazilian forum of orthognatic surgery. That's a link, there is many BA. https://m.facebook.com/groups/145168205551830. But the people there don't know anything about their surgery. Just post this here, to confirm my theory: avoid overadvancement of maxilla.

Already asked her this question, but she doesn't know how many mm moved

The few cases I've ever seen from Brazil all have over-advancement.

Is this a cultural/aesthetic preference there, too small a sample, or do the surgeons have improper training?

Well I do find it odd how some people do not know how much the movements were. Should have figures going into surgery.

Well Brazilians tend to like big dramatic stuff tbh , Viva!

She may have needed to be cool with the trade off with over advancement of Lf1 in exchange for maximum advancement to the lower jaw. Oh well, just goes to show you an example of 'anti face' (very forward face).
