General list of above average surgeons
« on: April 01, 2018, 09:06:01 AM »
Hello!

I am scheduled to have jaw surgery at the end of 2018.
It's a reputable surgeon and I wouldn't be too worried if it were a standard procedure, however, it's a multi piece LeFort I and therefore high(er) risk.

Having second thoughts, I need to ask other good surgeons about whether this is a good idea and what they think about the procedure.

Is there a list of good surgeons that have lots of experience? Or just names you have compiled?
Around the globe is fine, I probably won't visit in person.

I know I could browse the forum and see which names come up repeatedly, but I thought asking directly would speed up the process. Hope that kind of laziness is not frowned upon.

Thanks guys and happy easter

Hi, a name you'll see frequently is Michael Gunson of Arnett and Gunson in Santa Barbara (Arnett I believe is completely retired?). People often commute from great distances -- I commuted from LA. Had surgery 9 weeks ago, am happy with my decision.

Arnett and Gunson "wrote the book" (literally) on orthognathic surgery.

Best of luck!
