What the hell happened to this woman's ramus? Dr. Movahed.

Not sure if it's some weird optical illusion, as it doesn't look as bad in the second picture, but it looks as though her ramus increased in length 5 fold and her mandible shortened??

IDK. Maybe an 'Inverted L' type osteotomy which can make the ramus longer.

Write to the doc and ask if he does the 'Inverted L'.

Looks like the posterior of the ramus dropped down. What Kavan posted looks about right.
Millimeters are miles on the face.

Not sure if it's an improvement... TJR?

His photo presentation is great meaning the head postures and all 3 of them, front, profile and oblique view. I think it would behoove him to do a short case write up as to what each patient started with and what was done to address the problem.

TJR is what I thought as well but not sure; it looks really unnatural from the angle in the OP. If that is what an inverted L osteotomy looks like then no thanks.

What would cause her nose to point downwards, rather than tipping up? Or is it just an illusion.

ANS reduction or even removal.

I'll just say it, that to me is a terrible result. Her ramus didn't 'drop down', it's basically gone now. Her mandible starts half way through her face. Severe bone resorption or something else, but TJR shouldn't result in this AFAIK.

I've never heard of TJR being put in a class III... nor severe bone resorption.

Strange result... but I think she looks OK from the front...smiling.
