Did Jaw Surgery fix your speech impediment?
« on: November 09, 2018, 08:46:58 AM »
I have had a speech impediment since I was a child, that speech therapy did not fix. I have read some reports of jaw surgery fixing this. Did this happen to you, or someone you know?   My voice kind of sound like I'm mentally challenged, and certain words I can't pronounce properly, such as "normal".

For sure it can. If your tongue dosnt fit well into your arch, you cant make certain sounds.

Thanks! Maybe that is my problem. I think my surgeon wants to move both jaws and perform CW rotation on my maxilla, so hopefully there will be an improvement.
