Chin implants material X bone absorption

Hi,
Not sure if it's relevant to this forum, but there is a recent fear-mongering here in Brazil about silicone chin implants causing bone erosion in long term, and so being dangerous
Most surgeons are recommending and doing surgery with porex chin implants, which searching around the internet seems to be a inferior material and infection-prone. Is that correct?

Yes, they can cause bone erosion. I have experienced this first hand. Not sure if porex chin implants are more infection-prone or not, but they are a lot more difficult to remove if need be.

Pored causes less bone erosion because the fixation is more secure.

The older style ones such as a 'button' or 'wafer' styles (off the shelf) have been associated with erosion. Poor or uneven placement is also a factor. It's due to them moving. Porex is usually screwed into place which limits movement. But in general it's the non exact placement of them that can result in a type of friction which causes the absorption. It's not the material  itself.
