It’s not just I have anterior tongue thrust it’s also that my tongue is too wide for my upper jaw, since the wider part of the tongue was brought forward, lol.

I never had any lateral open bite issues (or any open bite at all really) before surgery, but I also developed an open bite between my 2nd premolars and 1st molars on each jaw some time after my surgery once the braces came off.

I this happens when the patient needed a 3 piece to widen the jaw. Or at least proper diagnosis of a tongue thrust.
So, another terrible side effect of improper planning.
Millimeters are miles on the face.

I did indeed have a 3-piece for upper jaw widening and it's still too narrow for my tongue. Just goes to show how narrow my jaws.

Palatal widening, whether through a multi piece lefort or SARPE, has been known to relapse.
