PIEZOLELECTRIC BONE SURGERY
« on: May 02, 2021, 02:23:45 PM »
Below are 2 links about PIEZOLELECTRIC BONE SURGERY. Although the links are not about particular jaw surgery doctors who use piezoelectric technology, I chose them because they SIMPLIFIED the CONCEPTS that members of JSF are mystified by, suspicious of or can't think of reason doctors using this technology would tell their patients it minimizes nerve/soft tissue damage and makes much less the healing time.

The basic technology behind piezoelectric bone surgery is that works on the principle of specific frequency levels (vibrations) targeting specifically selected tissue and not harming the surrounding tissue (cuts down on collateral damage to other tissues). For example, the vibratory frequency used to cut through bone doesn't damage the surrounding tissue (soft tissue including nerves) because it's highly specific to bone and unspecific to soft tissue. Because the COLLATERAL damage to soft tissue is made so much less with this technology (providing the doctor is high on the learning curve with it), the inflammatory response (which is same thing as healing response) will be made much less and hence the healing time would be too.

This article on PIEZOELECTRIC BONE SURGERY https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4672167/
should be an easy read.

This link shows a doctor demonstrating how the technology can cut through hard shell of an EGG and spare the soft tissue below the shell (the membrane) from collateral damage. Frequency levels SPECIFIC to cutting through a HARD MATERIAL (shell of egg) are NON SPECIFIC to the SOFT MATERIAL of the egg (membrane of egg).
