Quadrangular Lefort II vs Lefort I jaw surgery
« on: March 14, 2021, 06:12:48 AM »
I would be grateful if you could tell me why quadrangular Lefort II is not a very popular surgery. It seems like it would be a much better solution for people with recessed midface and I'm tempted to pursue this option over the more popular Lefort I. Lefort I maxilliary advancement makes under-eye area (malar & zygomatic bones) look even more recessed, often requiring implants afterwards for an aesthetically satisfying effect. Are the risks so much greater with Lefort II compared to Lefort I? Please help me understand this issue better.

I think due to risk of blindness with that surgery.
Millimeters are miles on the face.
