Does both custom PEEK and Silicone jaw implants cause bone erosion? Would it be better to make the implant slightly bigger in case this happens?
PEEK adheres a bit to the bone, therefore in theory it should cause less bone erosion. I have silicone implants and its definitely cause some erosion to the chin area, but the jaw area is more of "remodeling".
IF you have the ability to do PEEK, I'd go for that.
