Genioplasty 1 year post op.
« on: March 27, 2022, 07:20:56 PM »
Do you think it would be safe to get a genioplasty 1 year post operation. I’m worried that it will mess up the work from surgery. It shouldn’t affect anything about the bite at that point right? My concern is that maybe they will need to keep my mouth open wide during the procedure and I don’t want it to affect any of the plates or screws.

Very safe, also if you never had a genioplasty before there are no incisions under your gum that have to be healed so you should be fine.

anything you can think of that I should watch out or be careful for? I can’t think of anything besides the fact that they will probably have to have my mouth opened wide during the procedure for like an hour or so.

Only the JAWS hold the teeth. NOT the chin. So, any chin work you do will be independent of how the teeth work or 'mesh' together.
