Underbite with Recessed Maxilla and Recessed Mandible
« on: September 09, 2024, 03:01:05 AM »
Has anybody come across cases of Class 3 malocclusion (underbite) in which the person had both a recessed maxilla and recessed mandible, but the maxilla was more recessed than the mandible? And then had advancement of both jaws to correct the underbite, as opposed to maxillary advancement to correct the bite and genioplasty to give chin projection? If so could you point me to examples of this?

I don't know of any picture examples, but yeah, this is a thing to do both jaws, even with Class III. A lot of times both jaws are moved to avoid skin sag under the neck, too. You should post the plan.
