Hi guys I was just wondering if getting jaw surgery or a genioplasty would benefit me in any way. I just recently finished invisalign treatment but I still have a slight overbite. My chin seems to be receded, but you cant really tell because of my beard. I dont have any x-rays but I've posted a a couple of side profile pictures. Also, I do seem to have some sort of sleeping disorder. I wake up quite often in the night, I did a sleep test with an oximetry device but the results came back as inconclusive. I was referred to a sleep specialist but I never ended up going.

How are we supposed to give you advice about your face when you not only have no x-rays but are covering your entire lower jaw with a thick beard.

It dosnt look like you have any lip incompetence, so if you dont have sleep disordered breathing, id say you have nothing to gain from jaw surgery or genioplasty, and a lot to lose.

If you know that it's hard to tell due to your beard and no X rays, then why are you asking?

I understand it's a bit foolish posting pictures with a beard, i though maybe you guys would be able to tell. I am going to be seeing an oral surgeon soon for wisdom teeth removal when I get the x-rays I'll post them here.

Make sure you ask for a CEPH x-ray.
