Title: My bite is worse. Is there hope?
Post by: wendyl on June 30, 2018, 04:44:00 PM
I had my surgery about 8 weeks ago and now my teeth do not line up or touch. It also appears that the front ones overlap too much. I thought the surgery would improve my bite and the orthodontics following surgery was going to be the finishing touches. I feel my mouth is a terrible mess now! Much worse than when I started orthodontia. Even though I have the surgeon's blessing to eat solids in 4 more weeks, I cannot do so without any teeth that touch! Will this be fixable or is it an error on the part of my surgeon?  I also find it odd that after replacing my elastics at week 5 he insists that I don't need to see him until after 1 year. Being 60 years old and a diabetic you figure he would want to ensure the bones have healed properly before I resume chewing. Does anyone else think this is odd?

wait he wants you in braces for a full year after surgery? That sounds f'd up. And yes, sounds very weird.
