I'm really curious to know how long peoples jaws are since I reel that mine is shorter than most girls even. Of course it depends on how big of a person you are overall but it's still interesting to know.
I'm only 5'8 and a half and my jaw is only 4 inches.
I used a measuring tape and I measured just the horizontal part of the jaw, not the ramus.
Also, it helps to stand in between your bathroom mirrors.

Jaw length in absolute value, has a relative importance. A same length jaw in a retruded or protruded profile makes a whole difference. So the best is to measure facial proportions and indexes, to have a relative idea of the relative length of the jaw compare to other facial structures, such as the nose, cheek bones, and paranasal areas. Also, we have to analyse it in relation with the ocllusal plane. Is it in the context of a long face with high mandibular plane angle, or short face? Different cephalometric analysis might help to measure that, but at the end, the single most important analysis is the clinical facial analysis.

How do u measure jaw size? Gn to Pg?

See attachment. From red mark to red mark.
My jaw have the same shape as that one, kind of like a 90 degree gonial angle. Just recently I have discovered that many men don't have a very pronounced gonial angle so I guess it can be quite difficult to measure if that is the case.
I am not dragging the measuring tape across the chin, I am just measuring point to point.
