holy s**t, what's all that hardware this dude had but into his jaw? Is all of that the norm? And what's with the incision made to the side of his neck? what was that for? please explain what I just saw!

I have never seen a lower jaw surgery like that.  That looks extreme! Is that an IVRO with with a prosthetic jaw?

Looks like they didn't do what I would call a BSSO, but rather separated the mandible vertically at the ramus.  Seems kinda rough for healing if 2 living pieces of bone aren't still connected as in a BSSO.  I wonder what's surrounding the inferior alveolar nerve.
