Title: Surgical plan, advice needed
Post by: kubabuk on August 20, 2022, 09:58:17 AM
Hi, my surgeon created the following plan:

here are my photos from different angles:

I'm worried it will give me an "underbite" look (the profile looks "aggressive", for lack of a better word; maybe it's my prominent chin?). The advancement of maxilla is also pretty big (risking a "chimp lip") and the upturned nose worries me. Also, will my chin create a weird looking jawline (will there be a weird "step") when positioned in the way shown in the plan?

Am I right in worrying about these aspects? Is this plan good for my face? What could be done differently?

The after proposal/plan reflects a visible improvement in the profile balance.

The after proposal/plan does NOT reflect anything you are worried about.

Looks fine.

Mandible position is basically perfect. Large simulated advancement can look jarring vs. your current appearance but the soft tissue balance looks all good to me.

Maxilla is also being moved down in addition to forward which offsets chimp lip risk also.
