Title: 8 days post upper jaw can I chew?

I got no wires or anything is it ok to start chewing a bit if I don't feel any pain? or am I supposed to wait till my surgeon says I can start chewing

Seriously don't cheat or you'll regret it. It's important you follow you doc's instructions to the tee. Failure to comply = back to the OR.

Hey, I'm 5 days post op from a maxillary advancement osteotomy & my surgeon says liquid diet for 2 weeks. Basically your plates are hanging on for dear life to your maxilla at the moment and they're relying on the lack of force to integrate to your bone properly. I would say absolutely do not chew for at least another week!!!

I wasn't able to chew for 2 months! It's seriously not that hard.
