Title: Underbite Surgery Before and After
Post by: sarahxgx on May 13, 2013, 02:47:51 PM
Hey everyone. My name is Sarah and I just got my underbite surgery last Tuesday.
Just thought I'd share some pictures, I'm only on day 6 but the swelling went down a bit today thank god!
I'm planning on writing up a detailed blog of my experience in the next few days so feel free to check back :)

Here's a couple of before shots:
My top jaw was brought forward 4mm and my bottom back 2mm.

And now day 6:

Little happier with the results today although there still is a lot of swelling.

Comments and opinions appreciated :)

very very mild advancements which means that you had great mid-face development

you were also very attractive to begin with

Pekay I actually had a very recessed midface - hence moving my top jaw forward.

how many mm? 3? 4? that is still very tame

Well I'm sure it wouldn't have been moved at all had I a "great mid-face development". Yes, 4mm.

trust me your midface is definitely top 10% as far as pre-op jaw surgery patients go. volume matters less than length in your case and you experienced practically zero elongation unlike a lot of us here.

CK I beg to differ. During the course of my life I've been called names like 'horse' and 'chin'. My face was terribly long.

trust me 4mm is still very tame and when I said "great mid-face development" I meant it over-all as in forward and lateral projection.

You had a relatively mild case that was isolated to the jaws mostly. Good news for you cause mild cases usually produce the best overall results

by length are you referring overall length? yes, the underbite exaggerates your features and makes everything appear out of proportion. the reality though, is your features are well above average. the distance between your lips/eyes/nose (midface) is ideal...not remotely long...not at all....when compared to the majority of jaw surgery candidates.

your only issue was the jaw.
