Hi Everyone,
I had a maxillary impaction a little over a year ago and since the numbness went away I've been having a little discomfort and tenderness on the left side of my nose. My doctor recommended taking the plates out, but I am a little scared to make cuts in the same area. After my jaw surgery, one side of my upper lip became very stiff and the nose base is wider. I don't want to go through the swelling/healing ordeal again if I risk making things look worse. Has anyone had any complications with taking out their plates? Any improvement? The pain is live-withable, but I don't really sleep on that side anymore because of it.
