Stumbled across this website randomly:

I have it linked to a particular article about forward head posture but there are also many more such as the connection between shin splints and the arches of your feet, scoliosis, kyphosis, etc. Very cool!

an exercise i used to do - but not so much anymore because im lazy - is to pretend your head is being held back by a piece of string. basically, hold your head up high, but try to avoid bending the neck or back, just the head.
a pain specialist showed me that.

Thanks. Btw, how long until you can sleep on your side / just sleep normally again? I know you have to sleep upright for a while due to swelling and the HA grafts...

2 months.
Thanks. When that time comes, I'm gonna work on my sleeping position (I've read side sleeping with a pillow between your thighs is ideal).
Also, how is breathing through your nose? Better than pre-op? Did you have any nose breathing issues pre-op? Arnett is gonna be doing a septoplasty for me during surgery so im hoping for an improvement there + an end to my mouth breathing. I wonder how long until i would be able to use a neti-pot/nasal irrigator after surgery? Sorry for all the questions! :p

i never had any nose breathing problems, i just naturally breathed through my mouth - im assuming because of my open mouth and jaw issues? in any case, ive been breathing through my mouth less, but i still do it without realizing it sometimes. my lips still don't seal 100% yet. i had a small airway, does that encourage mouth breathing?
immediately post-op, my nose was stuffed up with dried blood. at the office gunson/arnett have a tool that can suction out whatever is trapped in your nose, but that's not till your next appointment (usually the following tuesday after surgery). you're allowed three doses of affrin i think, one my nurses was sort of belligerent and gave me another dose even though i told her i didn't think i was supposed to have any more doses.
i dont think gunson/arnett want you shooting anything up your nose. at least that's the impression i got. i was more distracted by my sore throat (multiply scratchy throat by 1,000) than breathing problems. not sure if arnett does it but gunson likes to empty the stomach i believe after surgery is done, and the tube used scratches the throat?

Thanks for the info! How long did the sore throat last?
