I just found this forum and I'd love to answer questions that anyone may have before undergoing orthognathic surgery. I am now a senior in college and had my jaw surgery the summer before my freshman year of high school (I graduated HS in three years though)...7 years? I had my bottom jaw taken back and my top jaw moved forward. My surgery took 6 hours and I was wired shut for 8 weeks. It was a serious procedure, but it changed my life and I'm VERY glad my parents & I decided to go through with it.

I have attached pictures.. before and after. There is also side view pictures (which show much better the severity of my bite) that my mother & surgeon have and I will try to get ahold of those soon. Don't judge too much by my before....underbite, unabrow, acne, face! haha
