Title: Recessed midface
Post by: allornothing on April 10, 2014, 07:03:05 PM
What are the best options for dealing with a recessed midface on top of a recessed chin (my bite is fine)?
Basically, instead of growing forward, it kinda looks like my whole face grew downwards.

It looks sort of like this: http://i.imgur.com/vpPnVK4.jpg (http://i.imgur.com/vpPnVK4.jpg) (very similar to me actually)
except I'm a guy and my cheekbones look even less pronounced.

Is there any surgery that cuts the zygomatic bone?

Well, a full Lefort III seems like a bad plan due to the risk of blindess, + I doubt many surgeons would perform it on a non-syndrome patient.

What about something like a Quad Lefort I/II? The few before and afters I saw looked pretty good.

From what I understand it addresses some of the orbital rim issues, I find it hard to find information on it however, and I'm not sure if it can be done with CCW which i probably need? Does anyone have info on that procedure?

Do you have links to the before and afters?
