Title: Friendly reminder: check your living will
Post by: molestrip on March 27, 2015, 09:03:22 PM
Before undergoing any major medical procedure, you should always have a living will in place that states what happens in the worst case. Basically, you don't want to become a vegetable. It's remote but it does happen, even to the best surgeons.

Really good, and very necessary advice!

Make sure it's a LIVING WILL, not just a will. Both are important, but they are NOT the same. A living will is often referred to as an Advance Health Care Directive.

It occurs to me that you should make sure you have good disability and life insurance coverage as well, for the same reason.

So do financial advisers lol :) Let me change that now. Don't buy whole life insurance.

There are a very few, select circumstances where it could potentially be indicated. For the most part, no, it's not necessary.
