Glad to have my upper jaw surgery behind me. The surgeon said it went even better than expected. My bone quality is good so I think that bodes well for recovery. I look like Miss Piggy only not so cute.

Cool. Hopefully you have a solid speedy recovery.

I hope so too. It is really hard to breathe.

Hi NS.
I'm about 10 days ahead of you.
All I can say is those first 10 days are tough !!!!
It does get better. If you're like me you're living the days and nights in 45 minute increments. Last night I had my best night's sleep at 6 hours !!
I used saline mist to help with the congestion in the nose. I'm still using it but dont need it as much and sometimes I have a totally clear nose.

Tom2, glad to know I have someone ahead of me to share how the recovery proceeds. I am using the saline sprays and also my neti pot. Breathing is getting a bit better.
Did you have a lot of bruising and swelling?
Nancy

Hi Nancy,
I didn't have much bruising. Where I did have it was in a circle like pattern around my neck near my collar bone. Swelling. Oh yea. Lots of that. That said, as of today it has mostly gone except for some right around the sides of my nose and along the jaw line for my jaw advancement.
For comparisons sake, I had segmental Le fort 1, bsso and genioplasty. Didntvreally havecti have the genio but hey I was already under the knife so I figured let's go all the way.
I can also say that my nose is clearing up nicely. I went through a lot of saline.
Hope you're having a nice day.
Tom
