How do you know if the bone is fusing after osteotomy? Can an X-ray show that? Or do you need a CT scan for that to show?

Both could show it. CT would be better though.

What molestrip said, both will show. However, if I recall correctly the bone itself fuses very quickly (like within a week or two). After that it's remodelling for quite some time to come.
