Title: Informed Consent - - sliding genioplasty
Post by: Bobbit on January 28, 2016, 04:43:23 PM

This is long.  Full of legal stuff.  What a nightmare.  Long discussion as to what constitutes "informed consent".

Note the long recovery time for restoring sensation to the lower lip for THIS patient  - - from the sliding genioplasty.

From the experience of a lot of others, this appears to be significantly atypical.

Scares me. I'm pretty close to commiting.

You gotta think though. Sliding Genioplasties are performed hundreds and hundreds of times a year. Yet I have only ready a handful of negative outcomes on forums and online. From what ive read its a pretty simple procedure for any competent oral surgeon.

Yeah it's just too long. I would appriciate it if others could summarize this story further.
