Title: technical question (surgery)
Post by: Rico on February 21, 2016, 06:25:09 AM
To those who had cut maxillary bone through intraoral approach (incision near the upper teeth) to get to maxillary bone

The surgeon had to detach the skin from the bone.
Did you have after that numb upper lip ?

I'm asking because I wonder if I can take correction now
My nerve is regenerating very fast and I do not know if i can risk second damage during regeneration. That would be fatal for the nerve

The question Does detaching the skin from the bone cause damaged nerve on that area ?

I can't answer myself  because I had manipulation near the root of the nerve... so I do not know how is when a surgeon  detach only the skin from the bone
if you know what I mean

please answer. Important for me.

I;m not sure what is septorhinoplasty

You did not read my question carefuly

what about your upper lip  near the nose ?  any sensation loss postop ?

PERHAPS I HAVE TO ADD.. .IT'S A QUESTION TO THOSE WHO HAD CUT MAXILLA
who had detached  skin from the bone

PS You will get significant improvement after 12 weeks.
